As we mark the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the International African American Museum is proud to present the first installment of Revolutionary Conversations – a collaborative dialogue series developed in partnership with the Gibbes Museum of Art, South Carolina Historical Society, Charleston County Public Library, and Charleston Gaillard Center. Facilitated by Tina Singleton of Transformation Table, this inaugural program invites participants into a powerful evening of shared stories, open reflection, and collective truth-telling. Centered on themes of freedom, justice, and belonging, Revolutionary Conversations challenges us to examine the promises of the past and the possibilities of the future.
Dialogue Notetaker Volunteer
Volunteers will be assigned to a dialogue table during Revolutionary Conversations | Humanity in History and will help document meaningful reflections, responses, and themes shared throughout the guided discussion experience. Volunteers are encouraged to actively listen, engage respectfully with participants, and capture impactful quotes, ideas, and moments from the conversation through handwritten notes. Legible handwriting, attentiveness, and comfort in group dialogue settings are strongly encouraged.
Additional Volunteer Request: Assist with program setup and breakdown, including chairs, signage, and materials. Support transitions and guest wayfinding as needed during the program.
