In partnership with the Emancipation Proclamation Association and the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor, the International African American Museum invites you to join us for our 2026 Emancipation Day Celebration. The day begins with the Association's annual Emancipation Day Parade departing from Burke High School at 11:00 AM, followed by a full afternoon of complimentary admission, family-friendly activities, and interactive experiences that honor the enduring legacy of freedom at the IAAM.
Volunteers will be asked to: assist with setup/break down, assist with wayfinding and crowd control, assist with the Dream Baton Activity, and assist with the Education Department Activity.
