Awakening of the Ancestors Through Music, a powerful cultural celebration that honors the legacy and resilience of the African Diaspora. Guided by the theme “A Journey of Spirit, Song, and Soul”, this program calls audiences to reflect on the voices of the past while embracing hope for the future. The evening will feature the Grammy Award winning ensemble Sounds of Blackness, whose dynamic blend of gospel, R&B, soul, and African rhythms embodies both ancestral memory and contemporary creativity.

Program need: Usher guests in and seat them closer to the front.

Through the Young Griots program, learners will discuss themes, historic moments, and various aspects of African American and African culture to showcase the importance of storytelling and story sharing within the global African diaspora.

Volunteers to work in the CFH Office downloading USCT Pension Application files from the NARA website: https://catalog.archives.gov/search-within/300020?page=7&q=U.S. Colored Troops

Days & Hours: Tuesday – Fri; 10am – 4 pm (I don’t expect them to work the full 6 hours. This is just the available timeframe)

Max number of volunteers per day: 4

This will on-going until the files are all downloaded   Each volunteer will be provided with a laptop. They will sit inside the CFH Office. A short overview & training session will be given.   This is open to all volunteers (not just CFH volunteers).
